Many were wondering where you go from Macaframa? Well...Kareem Shehab figured it out and answered.
As I see it Track Bike videos really didn't have a golden age of awkward videos where no one cared how good it was, when people cared more about quantity or quality. The closest thing we had was about three years ago when you would search YouTube everyday to see if someone had posted something new over night.
We started with videos already under our belts...maybe not Track Bike videos but BMX, Skateboarding and even Rollerblading videos. We already knew how to make great videos and we felt there wasn't any need to go back in time. But maybe there was...maybe we needed to start from scratch. Maybe this scene we all call ourselves a part of would be more like a community. Maybe there wouldn't always be this debate about who is better...kids who do tricks or kids that like to bomb hills and go fast. Is it too late?
I don't think Kareem Shehab thinks so...the man behind Death Pedal. Kareem has made a video showcasing riders from all over the world, having fun and doing what they love. The filming isn't great, the editing is that of a skate video from the mid-90s but the riding is good and never once during the video did I feel like someone wasn't having fun or over concentrating on a trick or hill bomb. And I think this is what we need, people are too serious about this. Most of us originally started riding Track Bikes for transportation or for work, not because it was some kind of extreme sport. We just wanted to have fun and meet people from all over who were also interested in riding these brakeless bikes fast, down hills and backwards. Now is our time and if we want anything to happen from this positive we first need to be positive ourselves. So Kareem...I salute you!
